• Congratulations to the members of the inaugural Committee of 100!  This group took the time to read, think, and apply to be a part of this important work. Cajon Valley has been on the cutting edge of progress and innovation thanks to a courageous Governing Board and our exceptional employees.  

    In April, as part of the ASUGSV Conference we hosted several Ministers of Education from all over the world as well as senior staff from the US Department of Education.  The following video is still in production and will be released publicly shortly. Here's a preview   

    What we've been told by White House staff is that systemic change and/or educational policy change will not start with government but rather at the local level.  We are leading the type of movement that is already having a positive impact on those paying attention. Systemic change is hard because of the structures that have been put in place around it.  In our case, those structures are standards, curriculum frameworks, accountability measures, time, space, grading policies, and the list goes on and on.  

    Our Governing Board has commissioned us to take on these structures, many of which have been unchanged for over a hundred years, and continue the work of creating a school system based on "Common Sense" that will actually result in "Happy Kids, Engaged in Healthy Relationships, on a Path to Gainful Employment".
