Mrs. Yolanda Sargent
My name is Yolanda Sargent. I have been teaching at Cajon Valley Union District since 2000, and have taught grades from k through 5. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and worked as an English teacher at the University of Baja California. Prior to going into the teaching profession I was a medical assistant and a small business owner.
I was born in Ensenada Baja California and came to the United States with my family when I was 4 years old. I am married and I have one son and a grand-daughter.
Some of my hobbies are: reading, watching movies, swimming, riding horses, and playing golf with my husband, and finally playing with my cats, and most importantly, spending time with my family.
I believe that creating a safe and welcoming environment is extremely important for student success. In addition to teaching Common Core Standards and making sure that all students have the same opportunity to learn I strongly believe that inspiring students to become life long learners. One of my goals is to instill in my student the love of learning and an intrinsic desire to learn, work hard, persevere and believe in their abilities.
I hope that together we can help our students achieve their potential.
